Thin Air Mountain Biking Tours

Thin Air MTB Tours offers guided tours through the Barkly East area, which includes New England, Wartrail and Rhodes. The Barkly East area is a maze of trek paths, jeep tracks and cattle paths that even the locals don't know about, never mind a visiting mountain biker!

Your guides thrive on finding and mapping new routes in the area. This translates to unique riding experience for even the seasoned mountain biker and tourer.

Tour: The New England Wartrail Wander

Day 1:
Arrive at New England. Settle in for a good nights rest. The group will be briefed.

Day 2:
After breakfast, leave New England and cycle to Barkly East. This route is on the gravel roads and takes you past the Famous Reverse Railway, through the Kraai River pass and into Barkly East for an early lunch (approx. 30km).
From Barkly cycle over the Espasberg to Mosheshford, where you will enjoy fantastic accomodation and meals.

Day 3:
From Moshesford, cycle to Wartrail. There are 2 routes, depending on fitness: the first sticks to the district roads, the other goes down into the Jochom River and out at Drumbo.
Overnight at one of the top class Wartrail Guest Houses.

Day 4:
From Wartrail cyclists head back to New England via the Loop Road.
Stop for a picnic lunch and a refreshing swim en route.
Arrive back at New England for dinner and overnight.

Day 5:
A leisurely breakfast will be served before departure.

R3 390 per cyclist sharing

R1 850 per non-cyclist sharing (children 12 and under less 30%)
